If you’re looking for a specific type of job, such as a public relations specialist, immediately head to the back of this book and look at the listings of employment databases. After perusing the list, choose a few and then go to the sites and perform keyword searches for your specialty. For a public relations job, you might try keywords such as communications, PR, marketing, public relations, writing, and corporate communications.

Also go to some online directory or search engines and explore the public relations links (or whatever links pertain to your specialty) to see if you can find any extra information about companies that are hiring in your area. If you get really serious, take a look at the associations and employment meta lists, too, and begin exploring further. Also, start looking for public relations companies on the Web.
